Around The World with OBSKUR MUSIC ft. SOFSOF

    • Bass

SOFSOF (they/them) is a Siberian-born, Glasgow-based DJ, co-founder of FUSE GLA - dubstep and bass-focused night entering its 10th year, and a cultural programmer at Glasgow’s grassroots venue Stereo (also working as a 3D visual artist on the side). Not adhering to a specific genre or BPM, their sets explore many facets of club music with a focus on bass genres and faster paced sounds from around the world - from UK bass, funky, dubstep & club to jungle and footwork. Freshly off support for Kode9 in December 2025, over the years they’ve shared line ups with the likes of Juliana Huxtable, Sam Binga & Addison Groove, LCY, Nikki Nair, Bluetoof, Interplanetary Criminal, Animistic Beliefs, Vanessa Maria, Samurai Breaks among others; while making appearances at some of the best underground parties in Scotland, such as Ponyboy, Headset, LUCKYME, Baile Baile and Scandal.gla Deeply embedded into Glasgow’s clubbing scene, SOFSOF has been at the forefront of pushing underground sound for a decade, be it as an organiser or performer, creating pockets of safety for LGBTQ+ communities within Scotland’s nightlife.

SOFSOF blends a wide palette of low-end textures into a fluid, shadowy progression that moves between spacious dub pressure, broken rhythms, and tightly wound percussive drive. The mix feels tactile and immersive, built on dense sub-bass and finely detailed drum work, where airy atmospheres and negative space gradually give way to sharper syncopation and heavier rhythmic weight. Instead of dramatic shifts, the energy evolves through subtle tonal changes; hazy pads dissolve into metallic percussion, rolling basslines lock into skeletal grooves, and dubwise echoes stretch across dry, punchy drums. The overall sound is deep and hypnotic, balancing warmth and tension while maintaining a steady physical pull, with each transition reinforcing a sense of momentum without ever breaking the mix’s dark, focused atmosphere.
