Pili Pili is a radio show dedicated to musical exploration. From the vibes of dub/reggae to the pulsating beats of techno and house, including UK bass music and American breakbeat, Pili Pili offers a unique sonic journey. Each show invites listeners to discover hard-hitting, underground sounds, always with a spicy twist.

Since relocating to Berlin in 2010, I have been deeply immersed in the city’s vibrant techno scene. From the outset, I connected with talented DJs and producers who not only mentored me but also expanded my musical horizons and help to navigate Berlin's underground culture. The authenticity and local flavor of Berlin’s club scene captivated me. The commitment to the music and the strong sense of community among artists and audiance inspired my passion for this genre. However, I've always found the scene to be predominantly male, which often left me feeling apprehensive about stepping into the spotlight myself. Despite my insecurities, everything changed in 2021 when I made a pivotal decision: to fully devote my free time to practice and hone my craft as a DJ. This commitment transformed my journey, allowing me to find my voice within the music. I embraced the challenge and began to forge my path, determined to contribute to the vibrant culture that had inspired me for over a decade. Today, my mission is to create immersive experiences that resonate with others while honoring the spirit of the underground scene that welcomed me as a newcomer. With a special focus on Cosmic sound, Electro Break Beats, Italo/House and Techno, I curate a seamless flow that captivates listeners and dancers alike. From the pulsating energy of EBM to the euphoric highs of Italo, each track is chosen to evoke feelings and memories, guiding you through an eclectic array of sounds.

I'm Hero, a DJ and producer based in Berlin. My work blends African rhythms with electronic sounds, reflecting a deep focus on pan-African electronic music, particularly Batida. As part of Amour Africain and the SAUTI (sound or noise in Swahili) movement, I aim to push underrepresented Afro-electronic sounds into new spaces, creating a blend that celebrates tradition and modernity. My DJ mix, "SAUTI from Berlin", features a journey through electronic Batida sounds, including some of my productions.
