Calorosa Collective is a Basel-based Dj collective for queers and allies, founded in 2024. Its active members include Calicá, Aram, Ayra’s Flashdrive, Yvarie, JanaKlar, RICA, and Iman. The collective has brought its unique energy to festivals like TraTra Festival—a feminist event in Basel—and has hosted vibrant parties across the city. In this episode, Calorosa presents Calicá's exploration of Latin bass, dub, breakbeat, and progressive house — sounds that have accompanied her throughout her recent musical journey. The mix features detailed tracks that reflect moments of her life and the ongoing process of musical discovery, identification, and conflict shaped by her migratory background. When placed together, these sounds make a certain kind of sense — navigating contradictions, disorder, and surprise. Calicá portrays the back-and-forth nature of her evolving taste and her deepening appreciation for Latin musical details. As her identity shifts through migration, so does her sound. Pushing forward Latin percussion and European synths, the mix begins with the energy of a migration journey and ends with the calm that follows — allowing space for the question: Who am I now?
